Falconer family genealogical notes, ca. 1863-1867.

A privately printed Falconer family genealogy containing bibliographies of works written by family members which is bound with additional printed items about the family and articles written by Thomas Falconer, and annotated by Thomas Falconer. Tipped in the volume are letters sent to Falconer regarding his writings, and clippings relating to the family. Five small albumen photographs of the Swansea debtor's prison accompany a copy of Falconer's article on "Franchise Gaols." Laid in the volume is a copy of a portrait of Thomas Falconer that appeared in the Illustrated London News of 1882 Sep 16.

Thomas Falconer (1805-1882) took part in the Texas-Santa Fé expedition of 1841-42 and was appointed arbitrator on behalf of Canada to determine the boundaries between Canada and New Brunswick. In 1850, he was judge of the county courts of Glamorganshire and Brecknockshire and of the district of Rhayader in Radnorshire, Wales.
